Payments
Payments for advertising can be invoiced (Net 30) or processed by PayPal at the Advertiser’s discretion. Applicable sales tax will be added. Payments must be made in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank. PayPal accepts all major credit cards and no registration is required.

A 1 1/2 % per month interest charge will be added on accounts 30 days or older and any discounts applied to invoice will be cancelled and full price for advertising in force at time of contract will be due.

Camera-Ready Artwork for Advertising in Travel Guide
If you will be providing artwork, files should be prepared “to size.” All embedded images must be converted to CMYK (not RGB, LAB or indexed color). For bleed ads (available with full page ads only), add 3/8” trim to sides and keep live matter 1/4” away from edge. Advertiser takes full responsibility for the accuracy of supplied files. Art will be published as submitted; Publisher does not accept responsibility for reproduction when materials supplied do not meet the requested specifications. Publisher assumes no liability for copy errors.

Print-optimized PDF files are preferred. Please ensure that all colors are trapped correctly prior to exporting your PDF since we cannot check detailed trapping in print-quality PDFs. Be sure to pay extra attention to any files created in Adobe Illustrator. At your request, we can supply our print quality Acrobat Distiller job options to ensure the best quality PDF.

Native-Format Submissions
If you will be providing files created in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign, please be sure to save in PC format. All fonts must be converted to outlines before sending. Include all type font files and linked images in submission. Be sure to preflight your working files before sending. Color proofs must accompany the disk along with all software information. Save all files to CD and mail to Publisher (see address below).

Artwork Design Services for Travel Guide Advertising
Avanti Group may, at its discretion, create advertising artwork at no charge to the Advertiser. Advertising copy created by Backyard Excursions remains the property of Backyard Excursions and its publisher, Avanti Group. It is Advertiser’s responsibility to provide to the Publisher all text, photos and logo electronically. All images must be high resolution (300DPI). Extremely elaborate and/or labor-intensive artwork creation may be assessed a creation charge. Advertiser will be notified of this charge before any work begins.

The copyright of any advertisement created by Publisher is owned by Avanti Group and may not be otherwise used by the Advertiser without prior written permission.

Premium Positions in Travel Guide
Premium positions are not cancellable at any time and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for preferred positions other than premium position will be honored, as space is available. A 10% surcharge will be accessed. All other ad placement is at the discretion of Publisher.

Cancellations by Advertiser
No cancellations or changes in order will be accepted after space reservation deadline. All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellation of any portion of any advertising order or contract by or on behalf of the Advertiser automatically nullifies any rate discount, including for previously published advertisements and may result in a short-rate. In such event, Advertiser must reimburse Publisher for the short-rate within 30 days of invoice thereof.

Copy and Content of Advertising
All content is subject to Publisher’s approval. The Publisher reserves the right at its absolute discretion, and at any time, to refuse any advertising, which, in their opinion, does not conform to the standards of the publication whether or not the same has already been acknowledged and/or previously published. In addition, Publisher reserves the right to remove advertising containing matter that readers have deemed objectionable or fraudulent. In the event of such cancellation or rejection by Publisher, advertising already run shall be paid for at the rate that would apply if the entire order were published.

The Advertiser and its Agency, if applicable, each represents that it is fully authorized and/or licenses to publish the content and subject matter contained herein including names, copyrighted material, photos, etc. Advertiser and its Agency, if there is one, each agrees jointly and severally to indemnify and save harmless Publisher together with its employees and representatives against all liability, loss, damage, and expense of any nature, including attorneys fees arising out of any claims for publishing of advertising including libel, invasion of privacy, copyright or trademark infringement and/or any other claim or suit that may arise our of the copying, printing, distributing or transmission of such advertisement.

Errors in Order
Failure of Advertiser or Advertising Agency to make an insertion order correspond in price to the scheduled rate will be regarded as a clerical error and their advertisement will be published and charged according to the terms of the schedule in force without further notice.

Changes to Specifications and Rates
Backyard Excursions, and its publisher Avanti Group, reserves the right to change offerings and pricing at any time without notice. Current in-force contracts will not be affected by new pricing.

Advertising Agency
In the event an order is placed by an Agency on behalf of the Advertiser, such Agency warrants and represents that it has full right and authority to place such order on behalf of the Advertiser and that all legal obligations arising out of the placement of the advertising will be binding on both the Advertiser and the Agency.

A 15% discount off gross billing is extended to recognized advertising agencies (those having a separate and distinct business entity). The insertion order and payment must be made by the Advertising Agency, not the ultimate Advertiser. To be eligible, completed printready artwork (electronic submissions only) must be received by art/copy deadline in exact size required and payment must be made within 45 days of the original invoice date. No cash discount is allowed. Invoices not paid within 45 days will be sent to Advertiser at full rate.

Publisher looks to the Advertising Agency placing the insertion for payment; however, Publisher shall have the right to hold the Advertising Agency and the Advertiser jointly and severally liable for the monies due and payable to Publisher, and the Agency warrants by submitting the insertion order that it and the Advertiser have accepted this responsibility. Publisher will not be bound by conditions, printed or otherwise, when such conditions conflict with its policies.

Storage of Materials
Materials will be stored by the Publisher for one year and then destroyed unless Advertiser or Agency instructs otherwise in writing.
